Dr Garvit is one of the finest doctors, surgeons and humans I've had the privilege of crossing paths with. As a surgeon - he was godsent to me. His compassion towards the patient and family is unparalleled and a trait I have truly come to admire given the news that he had to share was difficult to hear. His surgical skills are top notch - not only is he very knowledgeable about the latest treatments and developments but also I came out of this with the slightest pain/ discomfort as he prioritises the patients comfort over everything else. The army of doctors he works with deserves a prominent mention as well, especially Dr Sridevi who provided another layer of warmth and comfort and was with us every step of our journey. I feel truly blessed to have them as my surgical team - some of the best doctors I've come across in Bombay! Kudos and thank you for all that you and your team have done for us! Dr. Garvit is an excellent doctor who successfully treated my breast cancer with very good aesthetic outcomes. I highly recommend him for anyone needing breast cancer surgery.
During my first meeting with Dr. Garvit, he spent a lot of time highlighting various options with their pros and cons to enable me to make an informed choice. He was very patient and answered all my questions promptly and in detail, even outside our scheduled consultations. I also liked that he explained the disease from the basics and cited scientific articles motivating various treatment plans. In the end, I went with his suggestions and am very pleased with the outcomes. He had also planned a very flexible surgery where he would choose how to do reconstruction based on whether radiation would be required as per tests conducted in real-time during the surgery. He also took my needs and fears seriously.
Dr. Garvit was also careful to minimise the number of lymph nodes he removed during the surgery by testing samples one at a time to improve my long-term quality of life.
Post-operative physiotherapy instructions were provided in a booklet and were very comprehensive.
Even after the surgery, Dr. Garvit has been very involved in my treatment by making sure I am aware of fertility issues following my eventual chemotherapy and connecting me with doctors who could help me with this. He is also in touch with my medical oncologist and is involved in the remainder of my treatment plan.
